The entire nation is now preparing for the H1N1 Swine Flu that is expected to hit when the kids go back to school.  School closing guidance is being prepared.  Point of Distribution Sites (PODS) are being identified for the purpose of giveing flu vaccinations to those in the population most likely to contract the flu.  Children and young adults will be given priority.  Those over 50 are not considered as vulnerable; therefore, they are encouraged to get the normal protection for the seasonable flu.  In Fort Bend County the Medical Reserve Corps is gearing up to provide the vaccinations at the PODS.  They are looking for volunteers to assist in that effort.  They will need over 1,000 volunteers to support the demand in Fort Bend County.  An orientation of the the Medical Reserve Corps will be presented at the Remnant Worship Center, 8014 Wallis Street, Fulshear from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm.  Hope some of you will attend.  It is now the time to make sure you have all of the drug store supplies you will need.  Also good time to talk to your doctor about his/her desires as to what you should do if you or your family exhibit the symptoms of the flu.
