Election Information
The General Election Date is November 3, 2009
The General Election has been cancelled as only the incumbants filed for the available positions!
Citizens will elect a Mayor, 5 Aldermen and a Marshal. The term for the Mayor will be 2 years. Aldermen will run at large. After the election two Aldermen will be selected by lot to serve for two years and the other Aldermen will serve for one year.
In November 2010 the three Aldermen serving one year terms will again run at large for two year terms.
The following is the time line schedule for the conduct of the election.
- August 3, 2009, First day to file for place on General Election Ballot
- September 2, 2009, Last Day to Order the General Election
- September 2, 2009, Last Day to file for Place on General Election Ballot
- September 4, 2009, First Day to file for Ballot by Mail
- October 5, 2009 (Moves to next business day), Last Day to Register to Vote
- October 27, 2009, First Day of Early Voting
- October 27, 2009, Last Day to Apply for Ballot by Mail (Received not Postmarked)
- October 30, 2009, Last Day of Early Voting
- November 3, 2009, Election Day
Fort Bend County will administer the City of Weston Lakes Election with early voting being conducted at the Irene Stern Community Building in Fulshear and election day voting at Huggins Elementary School. Official notification will be made by publication of the Election Order by the Mayor of the City of Weston Lakes. Candidates will file with the City Secretary at the Simonton City Hall. Campaign finance forms as required by Texas Statute will also be filed with the City Secretary.
